it's not a question of cultivation. other countries and cities have grants
and programs for difficult work; the end result of that is we should all
emulate Taylor Swift. the u.s. is notorious in its support of the arts,
but that's another and very related story.

characterised when the process is that of refining ways to measure
the sense of being successful?
Might be mistaken, however, it seems that the difference between
getting ?0 per month while doing stuff that might be linked to art,
and not eating much, to doing the same stuff while getting ?10000 per
month and being able to flavour the food - is a translation of the
activities to measures that produce a binary scale of Yes done well =
reward & No = zilch reward.
The titanic GorillaPhant in the room is that when we get to art-linked
wonders, we kind of get into a stream of cultural sewage. Hence,
without a sort of Joycean sort of fetishisation, its still a bit of a
need akin to that of checking the toilette works OK from time to time..
