I don't think it's that. The normal CTWM session is fine, and it runs fine from the shell. (Also, to be perfectly honest, I don't know how to check...) By the way, it is normal bottom-post on mailing lists. It's easy in Gmail on the website. Press Ctrl+A to expand all text. Trim the bit that you are replying to, and type at the bottom. You should also use plain text, but you are doing that.
