No, I understand. BUT:

a) the cards are tested by VMC to 'work' before he sends them out.

b) Power (!) wouldn't knowingly sell cards that didn't work, what the hell
is point of this? ie. if a card doesn't work, it's not going to work on
*any* Amiga, so they are never going to get money for it. Also, Power can
quite easily test the cards, and I know if 50% of the cards they bought from
VMC didn't work, they wouldn't buy any again..

c) the cards that come back here as 'not working' are 95% of time due to the
motherboard problem. These days we try not to sell a Hypercom card to any
1D4 user and even 2B users are warned (but often 2B motherboards are ok). If
a 1D4 user does get a card, and we get the card back here for testing it
nearly always works. In fact, I don't think we've had a A1200 card (we've
had a couple of faulty zorro cards before) back that didn't work on our test
machine.

d) Power would sell the IOBlix A1200 cards (more expensive to buy, but a
little more reliable for 2B and even some 1D4 users) if 50% of their
Hypercom cards were always 'faulty'.

Normally, once a refund has been issue for this, we then resell the card as
a 'special offer' to another customer and, as long as they don't have a 1D4
(or sometimes a 2B), the card works on their machine.

If 50% of the cards we sold were actually faulty before we even sold them
then:

a) we would receive a *lot* of cards back and, believe me, we wouldn't sell
them again, due to the hassle!

b) out of 100 cards sold, 50 (!) cards would be returned and would give the
company a seriously bad name, this is something I wouldn't want to get
involved with.

I would *agree* that a lot of the cards *don't* work on many A1200's (1D4's
and many 2B's), but I would wholeheartedly disagree that they are actually
'faulty' as, stated above, the work for others.
