Well, I've got another "not solves the problem completely" suggestion.
Try to use a tool like SysInspector or TaskManager (probably on aminet)
If the retrieve-process runs as its own task you should be able to kill
it. Anyway, you should be able to kill MD-II so you wont have to reboot.
I use SysInspector regularly for things like this, and find it quite
useful. (havent been forced to do it on MD-II yet, though)
