Ok, so the SOCKS server runs fine.

SOCKS doesn't resolve names: you need to install a caching DNS on
the A4000: there are a couple on Aminet.
Then, on the A3000, put the ip of the A4000 in the resolve
configuration

Ping won't work through SOCKS, nor will traceroute.
