Over this weekend, I have developed a hatred for Microdot 2. Why?
I'll tell you...
Ever since I have been on the net (Dec 98) I have been collecting all
the submissions from this list, to build up a back reference of useful
NC related info. Well this weekend, with more than a little help from
MD2, I kissed goodbye to the lot!!! :-(
MD2 seems to have taken it upon itself to /forget/them along with
every other e-mail I have ever received. The *MicroDot.prefs* file,
required to see the e-mails in the *data* drawer, has somehow reverted
back to default. I know not why.
As a result, I am not only denied the ability to view the e-mails,
but I have now been forced to re-enter all the account details,
filters, signatures & newsgroup subscriptions from memory & little
scrappy bits of paper lying on the floor, which ain't been no day
out at Skegness, I can tell you.
Now unless anyone has any better /damage limitation/suggestions, I
will now have to go through all the 1000's (literally) of files in the
*data* drawer, and salvage the bodies of the messages, to build one
big text document. However,some message bodies seem to be
incomprehensible gibberish. What's that all about then?
I guess that's the next few weekends spoken for, er? Who needs a
social life when I can spend my free time cleaning up the faeces
that MD2 leaves behind?
