You misunderstand my actions Mr. Wiles. I'm quite happy with
Free4all as my primary ISP. The reason I keep trying all these other
ISP's, is *not* necessarily to find a /faster/ISP, but because I am
trying to find a backup ISP for the odd occation when Free4all isn't
available.
Also to check what newsgroups they support which Free4all doesn't,
that may be of some interest to me.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a large proportion of these
free ISP's to work properly, if at all. For example:
ConnectFree - Genesis bombs on connection.
FreeOnline - Keeps losing connection without dropping the line.
FreeServe - Can't get past PAP authentification despite checking
settings umpteen times.
Help has been asked for on this ML for all of the above, but
unfortunately, nobody has been able help. No point calling the
helplines - /"What's an Omega?"/ Hmm :-(
So the search goes on.
Although UK Online, apart from the limited (but very fast) newsgroup
support, seems to working ok for now. /Fingers crossed!/ :-)
