Oh dear. It looks as though my suspicions were right and that I can't
use the otherwise brilliant Genesis for this. I ain't technical but
maybe some ISP's (including BTInternet) send out something that makes
the PC browsers display adverts once connectd, and maybe this is
making Gennesis fail, but there again, it apparently connects with
Miami?
I want to use Genesis as it's part of Netconnect.
Here's a typical example of BT: Phoned up yesterday to ask for the DNS
servers, etc... to make a manual conection. I got the response that I
could only connect online using a Javascript capable browser. I told
her all I needed was a user id and password. She then said we could
arrange a manual connection by her filling in a form with my credit
card details, etc... We did this, and said I'd be called back with
confirmation and my user id. (The email address would not have any
spaces). Heard nothing all day. Phoned today (5th). Nobody knew a
thing about it. They insisted you can only connect with a pc or mac.
Great. I'll try again next week with hopefully intelligent staff.
(flying pigs?)
If Chris can find the prob with Genesis, that would be great. I had
this problem while trying out the various free ISP's. Chris-I sent
you the setting that Genesis wizard gleamed from ConnectFree ISP.
(in the form of screen grabs). They're probably floating around in the
ether somewhere. If you find them, it might help you try this free ISP
and let's know if you connect more than once.

Cheers
