Here is my wish list for MD2:
1. ROT-13 decoding of incomming mails, a menu item under message?
2. Random tagline selection like YAM or THOR, as a special character
in the signature like '%t'?
3. A catchup item in the munus, so the user does not have to wade
through 100's of old news items when they have not been on the
'net for a while. Multiple select is good but not for 20+ messages.
4. A way of selecting news groups to subscribe to in group manager,
that only requires a keyword to search for not the typing of the
whole address. For example searching for 'amiga' may bring up items
in 'alt.', 'comp.' and several other places. Then maybe selecting
one or more of the 'found' groups.
5. The automatic addition of new news groups to the group list, as
THOR does it - each time you connect to your news server.
6. A way to edit the grouplist and remove bad group names. There was
a time when groups had names containing just '#' and '-' and made
patterns when listed vericaly, these could be deleted.
7. If the Amiga should crash or hang requiring a reboot after you have
downloaded mail/news but before exiting. Msail items are usualy
lost and news items although not lost are not recorded as being
downloaded so next time a lot of articals are duplicates. I think
this has been partly addressed.
8. I have heard that the number of mail filters you have can slow
download of mail. So how about just downloading everything to PRIV
then running a filter as a seperate process that could be offline.
These are only minor quibbles and Microdot II is very good otherwise.
Here is my wish list for X-Arc:
1. The implimentation of the -l option in ZIP to translate CR to CRLF
in text files, so they display correctly under Windoze.
2. Multi-disk archive handeling if possible.
3. A TGZ archive module.
Here is my wish list for Voyager (not including JavaScript etc):
1. The correct display of ordered lists, with numbers not bullet
points.
2. Support for the MARQUEE tag.
I know some of these may not be easy and some you can do nothing
about, but I would be more than pleased if they appeared in NC3.
