If you're using a proxy server, it may not support secure connections
(in which case you'd have to switch it off for Secure in the net
preferences).

The proxy server may also not be updating the page in its cache
correctly, which could explain why the basket is coming up empty.
There may -actually- be something in it, but the proxy could be
showing you someone else's basket. Check to see if the ID number in
the top right of the screen remains the same, and if not... panic :)
