I've always used a program called FastJPEG. It probably doesn't have as
many options as JpegAGA. But as it's name says, it's fast, and i've never
had any problems using it with MIME. It's on the Aminet at
gfx/show/FastJPEG_1.10.lha. 2.2 is the latest version of JpegAGA, so if you
have an earlier version get a hold of the new one. It might have changed to
work with MIME.
