Yes the danger is that we get all het up about Intel because it's
intel. I drive a Fiesta, good reliable car, but a bit, shall we say,
staid. I could buy a Porsche, which I'm sure would suit the boy racer
in me more, but sadly I can't afford one, so I won't. I'll buy another
Ford next time round.
Whatever we think of x86 processors, they do have a high power to
price ratio. If we reject this we cut off our noses to spite our
faces. AmigaSoft will be non processor specific yes? So lets use High
power low cost x86 for consumer machines and other appliactions. High
end machines can use PPC or whatever, but if you want it you'll have
to pay for it.
Choice not dogma.
