[Genesis prefs crashing]

I have version 2.3 on the cd-rom so I don't think I need to download
the patch.
I have over written the genesis prefs program again at it seems fine
:)
BTW I have tried configuring it now to use a 'free' account that I
have set up with free4all but when it connects I get a
err sana_2 online: could not put DEVS:networks/appp.device, unit 0
online.
What have I done wrong and how do I correct it please?
