hello,

My mate has just been wittering on about 'how good' it was at getting
onto the internet with his dads new PC and Win98. 'I just click an
icon and it connected and brought up Yahoo'.

wow - big deal. He did say the only down side was finding out
exactly what it was dialing to connect to the internet! hehe.

Anyway, I'm perfectly happy with my set-up of launching Genesis first.
Sometimes I might not ever use the browser. However I was just
fiddling trying to set up a script for an icon that could sit on the
desktop. When clicked it would use Genesis to dial up using the
current config and launch Voyager with URL=http://www.yahoo.co.uk for
example. But it wasn't as easy as I though.

Has anybody spent a little time to get this sort of set-up working
with the standard NetConnect2: and AmiTCP: assigns etc. ??

I found a script in AmiTCP:Bin/startnet which issuppost (I think) to
get you connected but it don't work and never finds my provider. Also
it attempts to access NetConnect: assign. But I altered this.

If anybody has solved this task would they share the ascript with me.
Or can anybody tell me the exact commands to stick in my script.
I've used:

AmiTCP:Genesis ONLINE USER=Root

I start Genesis but it doesn't auto dial and connect :(

Any help appreciated.

Dinky do,

Mike C.
