This sort of problem would definitely benefit from a FAQ's. I have not
been using the internet for long and I have been struggling with
really low speeds till now. My modem would not even go online above
38400 but after installing the artser.device and then 8n1.device which
I am now using, it will connect at 57600. However it does not seem to
be that simple, at the higher connection speed I got terrible
performance but reducing the connection speed to 38400 and using the
8n1.device I rarely get less than 3500cps and usually more. This is
amazing compared to what I was getting so surely this sort of
information should be included as required reading. After all when
someone is starting out there is no frame of reference as to what is
good or bad.
