If you log in as root you can clear either individual entries or the
entire log, from the genesis report window.

AFAICT, the problem arises when genesis fails to disconnect properly.
This has happened to me once or twice; after hitting disconnect the
connection is dropped but the pointer stays busy and the disconnect
button isn't ghosted. You can't reconnect in this situation, you have
to reboot. The problem is the log isn't updated to reflect the time
at which the connection was closed, so it is left open until you next
go online. If this is a day later then you will get a false 20+ hour
connection in your log.

There's no solution I can see to this, except tracing and fixing the
bug that prevents a proper connection drop. Just delete these spurious
entries and ignore it.
