Hi Folks,
I've just installed a portplus mk2 serial card and on trying to connect I get
the following error.
crit serial_create: could not open serial device (hyperCOM1.device, Unit 0)
After running the installation off the portplus floppy I found that it had
indeed put the hyperCOM1.device in DEVS: (Version 2.89beta) and 2 libraries in
LIBS:
I changed my modem device in netconnect to hyperCOM1.device unit 0 (previously
serial.device) and then left everything else as it was.
The error mentioned above happens almost instantly after clicking on CONNECT.
There is no visible or audible modem activity at all.
I've checked all external connections and everything seems fine. I can only think that
maybe the clock port header has come loose when reassembling the 1200. I was careful
not to clip the iface cable on the casing clips.
I'm writing this from work via the u-net email www access. A handy thing indeed :)
