Hi All,
I recently bought a Sony Notebook and tried connecting the modem up
to it, to see what sort of connection I got (33.6k model). I'm getting
transfer speeds of 3000cps best, when on my Amiga I'm getting
3400-3500cps sustained usually using Genesis using my Port Jnr ser
interface. My notebook is running windows 98 using the driver for my
modem: supraexpress 336 V+. Is it that the amiga dialup programs are
so much better than the win95/98 implementations.
I was thinking of running the internet connection from my amiga
through to the pc, to make use of the extra speed genesis is providing
(only using one machine at a time, otherwise thats breaking the law
isn't it?). I have tried doing this but are having problems. I
followed the LAN guide that came with the netconnect docs, and on the
pc sidesetup the ip address of the machine by adding an ip address for
the machine through the "TCP/IP Dialup" option in Control
Panels/Networks.
The Pc and my Amiga are connected by a serial cable to both machine's
serial ports.

Pc: IP Address 100.0.0.1 Netmask 255.255.255.254
AMiga: IP Address 100.0.0.2 Netmask 255.255.255.0

I have created a new entry for trying to establish a connection
between the two machines, set to "Auto-Online".
I wasn't sure whether I need the "carrier detect" and "use DNS
address" on or not.
