This is probably not a solution, but try it anyway. With that much ram you
can increase the stack for everything to ten times typical default. Even
better is to run StackAttack (From Aminet). Installing that almost
completely  eliminated unexplained crashes on my A3000. Doesn/t help much
now I've downgraded to a pig of an A4000 though.
