I try to keep an up to date copy on disk anyhow, just in case.

Good thinking. On http://www.copywriter.co.uk a lot of the organisation is
through cgi, the new site will get mirrored and setting up scripts on each
domain would be a nuisance.

Another point about stringer is, as the replacement text is identical, it too
can be replaced so halloween.gif can become xmas.gif etc.

Sounds great, and the code looks easy. For mirror sites, It would be better
than the obvious solution of everything on one site, with other sites
showing the remote page through a frame, which I'm avoiding to please the
search engines.

If there's lots more to php, maybe Neil could do done one of his legendary
Amiga Format tutorials. Had the frames one by the computer all the
time (thanks Neil!).

php does affect the URL though, which I'm trying to avoid.
