I spent a couple of days after I got NC3 seeking and destroying old
MUI .mcc's and .mcp's and reinstalling the most recent ones I could
find. It's a shame there isn't an MUI Custom Class repository
anywhere :(
Anyway, my system is back to the kind of stability I had with NC1.1
(And that's GOOD stability before any wags get sarcastic). V3Pre5
hasn't crashed yet :)
Check out your MUI stuff first. NC3 is now pretty much perfect apart
from:
1) Duff V3 and WV on CD;
2) Octopus window MUI gadgets can't be added;
3) mFTP-II seems a bit funny about ADT Aminet handling.
Actually, the Octopus window problem is the only really annoying one
for me. Also, tellingOctopus to "Hide" via its Commodity interface
sometimes causes a crash, and some applications (DPaint 4.5 being one)
seem to force Octopus to Hide on startup. Thus: Starting DPaint
causes a crash if Octopus is running. Yuk.
Anyway, NC3 has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of
weeks, and I'm looking forward to seeing it "finished" (there really
/is/ no such thing in software)
