I'm not sure. I seem to remember somebody going on about "email mode"
in the Textinput MUI prefs. Perhaps you could play with that. But it
ought not to mess up your alignment: the asterisks and underscores and
stuff are just conventions used in email, MD just tries to visually
enhance them, they'd still be there anyway. For good alignment you
need to set up a fixed font setting.

Easiest way is just click directly on the desired mail address in the
titles or header of the message reader. MD will then send a new msg to
that address.
