Ah, right, I see. :-) Well I'd be a bit careful about relying on any
type of (mis)alignment issues since the boldface, etc is simply a
local interpretation of the symbols. The asterisks and stuff are still
there whether you can see them or not. Another mailer which doesn't
have the feature will print them in.

For similar reasons to above, this might cause confusion. It is
"accepted convention" to use asterisk=bold, underscore=underline,
slash=italic surrounding the word or phrase in any electronic text
message whether the medium supports typefaces or not. If you started
changing your symbols, the human-readability would reduce drastically.
The primary problem we have, IMHO, is the poor algorithm in the MD2
textinput class which converts the symbols to typefaces on the fly.

Sorry, wasn't thinking. :) Of course, as you say that wouldn't quote
the message... hmmm...

You could add the sender to you addressbook, then reply to the
mailinglist, but overwrite the "To:" address by selecting from your
addressbook before you send. But that is messy.

I'll second your request for a more flexible Reply function.. :)

Cheers,
