No idea why it did to your drive what it did to your drive, Paul,
but I've had no luck with X-Arc whatsoever,- I just load it to look at its
pretty pictures, then press a button & watch the whole thing guru. Never
fails!
I use an ancient proggie called GuiArc. 'Tis brillig. And unpacks or
packs in the twinkling of an eye. I see Patrick recommends Dopus4,- well I've
been there, done that & bought the T-Shirt, but for the job in question,
GuiArc knocks the knickers off it. Send it you if you want, the proggie that
is, not the knickers.
But if X-Arc really did clean out your HD & does a quicker job on it than
Amigados "Reformat Drive" command, we could be onto something big!
Keep trying anyway!
