Someone around here has been mumbling again. Apparently they go
by the name of George Bayliss.

This happened to me today, despite me telling Andrew it doesn't happen
here (freaky coincidence). If you use different screens, try replying
to this (or any) message, flick to workbench, and then back to the MD
screen. When I do this, the menus vanish. To get them back I have to
close the message writing window. Maybe it is a similar effect in
Voyager.
