I get the same response from the NTL World ISP.  It 
worked the first time I connected to it, but when I 
tried it the next day it connected and caused the "non-
fatal" error you describe, before crashing entirely.  
NTL is the only ISP I have had this problem with - I 
even used NTL.net with no problems before moving to 
NTLWorld.

I'm away from home at the moment, but I will have to 
try experimenting with the DNS number, as this is 
really irritating (especially as it seemed to instigate 
my BT Internet connection fouling up as well - I 
suppose "you can't uninstall evil!"...).
