Poor old Ian L. still has trouble.. :(

This may suggest a problem with your jpeg datatype, your picture
datatype or not enough memory to view it. Chip memory is required by
many datatypes, and *also* to display it if you don't have a gfx card.
There are also a lot of jpeg variants, not all of which are
displayable by the default system datatype.
The first thing I would do is rather than "view" the file, "save" it
to somewhere temporary, and *without* shutting down any running
programs try and view the saved file directly with multiview.
If that works, you could also try mailing yourself a SMALL picture
which you *know* you can view with multiview, then try to view it
internally to MD2.

Ok, so multiview works with text, but that doesn't mean it works with
pictures. The code you saw was indeed the picture data, encryped into
an email-friendly format.

Drastic, but ok at least you know its in there right. Not that there's
much that MD is fussy about anyway.

Ok, I expect that may be a typo, but you want a space between the
words:
SYS:utilities/multiview %f pubscreen %p
You may also have a few problems with the pubscreen argument. You
could try specifying just "screen" with no "%p" or leave that bit out
altogether until you get it to work. :)
I also have to say I'd never bother to view an mpeg video with
multiview. Use something like AmiPeg. Subject to personal preference
of course.

Personally, I always let a new installation create its own new blank
mail folder, then rename my old one (or even hardlink it) where the
new one should be. This is much quicker than the installer's
backup-copy operation and it has no opportunity to delete anything!

No probs. Sorry for the length of the reply! :)

:-) Unless it happens to be your only copy of the 20Mb source to your
latest programming effort....
Cheers,
Ian
