If you have that much trouble with your harddrive, you should really
consider another filesystem than FFS.
PFS, AFS or SFS would not give you validation errors after a crash.
I had SFS earlier and it worked fine, although a bit slow for deleting
files, but faster than FFS for most operations. Then I got AFS Pro
(2'nd hand, almost for free) which is faster than SFS. PFS is probably
the
best choice, but more expensive. SFS is freeware.
