i dunno whats causing your CPU to slow up
try running snoopdos
and see whats causing it

your right it shouldn't
it sounds like something is looking for a
routine that you don't have ie a wrong version of a library
and it has gone into a recursive loop,
to cure the database from getting corrupt
i use PFS3, which since i installed it i
can no longer corrupt the database.
