The vmware image has been updated for 2.0 on my web page,
http://wokka.org/netdisco/

I've changed companies since I built the 1.0 image and don't have ready
access to a large environment for testing at this time. I actually built
this for a customer and plan to deploy it on their network in a couple of
weeks, but the fruits of my labor can be shared.

If someone wants to download and test, give feedback, it would be
appreciated. Instructions are on my webpage about how to deploy.

Thanks
Charles

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Although deploying netdisco-2 is easier than earlier versions, a VM enables
me to drop it into a client network for a couple of hours, do discovery,
record stuff, and remove the VM.

Hi All,
Sorry for the noob question, but I am looking for some "getting started" type
documentation for netdisco 2. I've downloaded Wokka's appliance, and have it
all setup by following the installation instructions at
https://metacpan.org/pod/App::Netdisco#Configuration .
It seems to be working from what I can tell.....
I can log on to my netdisco server web page without any issues, but can't seem
to find out how to set up a seed address for network discovery. Maybe I am
missing something obvious ?

Hi Peter,

If you go to the homepage of the Netdisco web interface, there should be a text box saying "Discover". Enter the IP of one of your devices (something well-connected with CDP/LLDP such as a router or core switch). After that the system will send you to the job queue page and you should see the discovery/polling taking place.

I hope this helps,

regards,
oliver.
