Hi Peter
Are the Ruckus APs being discovered as Devices (switch, router, etc), or
Nodes (end-station such as workstation or printer), or not at all? This
can make a difference.
If using LLDP then you want them discovered as Devices ideally. Perhaps
they are being filtered by one of the settings in the config? You can
run a debug discover on their neighbor switch to see:
netdicso-do discover -d 1.2.3.4 -D
And it will show neighbors discovered, and their IPs and whether they
are queued for discovery or skipped and the reasons.
regards,
Oliver.

Hi Guys,
(Netdisco Version 2.36.3)
I've noticed that the MAC address does not show up on Netdisco for my
Ruckus wireless access points. Ruckus AP's don't support CDP, but I do
have LLDP turned on.
This would be very handy to have, as I often need to track down the
switch port for a particular wireless access point.
If I check on the Cisco switch the AP is plugged into I can see the
Mac address, IP Address, and the LLDP info for the wireless Access
point:
_#SH IP ARP | INC 10.2.136.52_
_Internet 10.2.136.52 0 d468.4d20.cb50 ARPA Vlan136_
_#SH MAC ADDRESS-TABLE | INC CB50_
_ 136 d468.4d20.cb50 DYNAMIC Gi3/0/47_
_#SH LLDP NEIGHBORS_
_Device ID Local Intf Hold-time Capability Port ID_
_CCC-R600-NBRecept Gi3/0/47 120 B,W d468.4d20.cb50_
But for some reason , the Mac address will not show on Netdisco. It
works fine for all my Cisco switches.

Peter Grasso

It's a little late now, I just created a new database and started over
from the beginning.
This was using the same software levels, so something was obvioiusly
broken. I'm not able to deubg it now, I dropped the old database.

I upgraded Netdisco this morning, but now I can't connect.
I just get a spinning wheel the entire time. I confirmed that netdisco
is up and running and listening on port 5000. I see established
connections to port 5000. Just nothing happens.
What should I do?

Some more info:
The database is up. netdisco-do psql works.
There are a ton of perl and starman processes doing something. The
load average of the system is around 5 and it's mostly only doing
Netdisco. It's a Red Hat machine that worked fine before the upgrade.
I'll let it sit a while and see if it settles down before I do
something drastic like re-install.
