Something is really broken I think.
I stopped netdisco. Dropped the database. Restored one from a few days
ago. Did netdisco-deploy to load the latest schema.
I started netdisco-web and netdisco-daemon and there are a lot of
processes running but I still can't connect.
Next step is to re-install Netdisco and see if it will work with my
backed up database. I hope so.

Hi Andy
Which version were you on before, do you know?
You can try to roll back by issueing this command:
curl -L https://cpanmin.us/ | perl - --notest --local-lib ~/perl5
App::Netdisco@VERSION
where VERSION is the release you want.
regards,
oliver.

There are a ton of perl and starman processes doing something. The
load average of the system is around 5 and it's mostly only doing
Netdisco. It's a Red Hat machine that worked fine before the upgrade.
I'll let it sit a while and see if it settles down before I do
something drastic like re-install.

I upgraded Netdisco this morning, but now I can't connect.
I just get a spinning wheel the entire time. I confirmed that netdisco
is up and running and listening on port 5000. I see established
connections to port 5000. Just nothing happens.
What should I do?
Andy

Something that ended in 91 to 92.
I installed clean and it's having the same problem so I'm wondering if
I need to upgrade stuff on the OS.
Thanks!

Oliver, I understand that this is a difficult task for me and thank you for
your advice. But this was the reason I subscribed to this list.
Now, I have a couple of questions that maybe you can help me with some
hints/more details, please...
1) If I want to reuse the files for the Ipinventory report so as to create
custom report, which files i need to copy/rename/edit in the installation
and if I do this, do I have to execute something in order to appear in
Netdisco?
2) This question is a little bit different:
a) In Ipinventory report if I use "List IPs Never Seen" there is no
DNS name for IPs/devices that are not discovered. I would like to know if
there is a way to resolve DNS names for the whole IP subnet despite the
fact these IPs were never seen before (there are no actual devices behind
these IPs or these IPs can not be discovered)
b) In Ipinventory report, If I change the IP and use the same DNS name
for a device that is already discovered, this new pair IP/DNS name does not
show unless I instruct Netdisco to rediscover the device. Also the previous
pair IP/DNS name stays there. Is there a better way to accelerate this
procedure or is better to leave Netdisco to do its job?
Thank you again for your patience to a newbie,
Marios
