Thank you. I will see what I can do and report back if I get stuck. I really
appreciate you taking the time to look into this with me.

Subject: RE: Would like to add CloudGenix to SNMP MIBs
bummer, nothing to query under their enterprise id. guess it will be just used
for traps then.
also they just identify as 8072.3.2.10, which is "net-snmp running on linux",
so we're not much good with that either.
i also don't see anything else that stands out to classify these devices.
so, what this boils down to is that, afaik, there's no way to correctly id this
device out of the box. the checkpoint/ipso way might be the only option, but
that requires being able to modify the snmpd.conf on your devices and being
able to run commands that produce the needed info.
so, the example is here:
https://metacpan.org/pod/SNMP::Info::Layer3::CheckPoint#WARNING<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmetacpan.org%2Fpod%2FSNMP%3A%3AInfo%3A%3ALayer3%3A%3ACheckPoint%23WARNING&data=02%7C01%7Ccahite%40burnsmcd.com%7C544730e9fb1f4d90856c08d762fe8242%7Cbfbb9a2b6d994e78b3c795005d555c8b%7C0%7C1%7C637086717583710871&sdata=hldY5NSo6m%2Fe4mjL1yRSKw8tWINuyPs4Gmc9oXqOMhA%3D&reserved=0>
so you'll need to find a command that outputs the cloudgenix version & other
info, which will then be available in snmp. all in all it's kind of a kludge
and you will not get any more info as with the net-snmp class (unless you
extend snmpd.conf with even more commands). i think the only net gain will be
having the device correctly identified and depending on the commands you want
to make available via snmpd perhaps some version numbers, serials, etc. so, if
that's what you want & the snmpd on cloudgenix can be extended i'll try to help
you getting a module working.
so step 1: check if snmpd can be extended with the needed info
step 2: mostly copy the checkpoint module & change where needed, i recommend
version 3.67 (
https://github.com/netdisco/snmp-info/blob/3.67/lib/SNMP/Info/Layer3/CheckPoint.pm<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fnetdisco%2Fsnmp-info%2Fblob%2F3.67%2Flib%2FSNMP%2FInfo%2FLayer3%2FCheckPoint.pm&data=02%7C01%7Ccahite%40burnsmcd.com%7C544730e9fb1f4d90856c08d762fe8242%7Cbfbb9a2b6d994e78b3c795005d555c8b%7C0%7C1%7C637086717583720866&sdata=LkBrMthayoYRCuTOJaSXmaf%2BCKlegTGOF2Ec4tlTsq4%3D&reserved=0>
) since in the latest release we added support for actual checkpoint oid's.
you up for that? we'll help out where we can via mail and/or irc ->

Subject: RE: Would like to add CloudGenix to SNMP MIBs
interesting. after looking at the mibs it seems that they do have a registered
enterprise id:
"enterprises 50114"
and according to
https://www.iana.org/assignments/enterprise-numbers/enterprise-numbers it's
even valid:
50114
CloudGenix
Aaron Edwards
arin-poc&cloudgenix.com
strange that they don't advertise that...
i'd be interested in an snmpwalk of the 2 following oid trees:
snmpwalk -On -v 2c -c __yourcommunity__ __yourip__ .1.3.6.1.2.1.1
snmpwalk -On -v 2c -c __yourcommunity__ __yourip__ .1.3.6.1.4.1.50114
just use your commstring & ip ofcourse. if deemed sensitive info you can reply
directly to me, but i don't think it wll be.

Subject: Re: Would like to add CloudGenix to SNMP MIBs
I have attached the mibs that I am able to download. They list support for the
following mibs:
* CLOUDGENIX-SMI
* SNMPv2-MIB
* SNMPv2-SMI
* IF-MIB
* IP-MIB
* TCP-MIB (subset)
* UDP-MIB (subset)
* IP-FORWARD-MIB (subset)
* HOST-RESOURCES-MIB (subset)
* CGX-EVENTS-MIB
* NOTIFICATION-LOG-MIB
* DISMAN-EVENT-MIB
I appreciate any help, but I am willing with a little guidance to troubleshoot
this in my environment if needed.
Thanks,
Aaron

Subject: RE: Would like to add CloudGenix to SNMP MIBs
sounds like a more complicated issue but not impossible.
first it would help if we could have their mibs, since i can't seem to get them
on their site and none of the google results seem like sites i want to click on.
some checkpoint devices also have this issue, see
https://metacpan.org/pod/SNMP::Info::Layer3::CheckPoint

Subject: [Netdisco] Would like to add CloudGenix to SNMP MIBs
Greetings, I am fairly new to NetDisco and was noticing that our SD-WAN product
CloudGenix is being identified as NET-SNMP device. I have been searching
online, on how to add the MIBs for CloudGenix to the NetDisco application, but
have not been successful. I downloaded the .mib from CloudGenix and added it
to the NET-SNMP folder for NETDISCO, because CloudGenix did not register for
their own OID and therefore return the OID for NET-SNMP. I reran a discovery
but to no avail. I am sure I should be doing something else but am at a loss.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron
