Trent,

Enabling LLDP doesn’t change anything ☹

I have seen this behavior on multiple Cisco switches if LLDP is not running. In
my instances, enabling LLDP, and re-running macsucks fixed it.

I did get some varied results using netdisco against a cisco network recently
that went as far back as 2900/3500xl up to c9410's with no connected devices
that weren't cdp. A lot of devices didn't register on newer xe devices, 4k's
had ios-xe / 03.07.03.E and the 9400's 16.9.3. The graveyard 2k/3k/6k-era
stuff on !xe collected just fine.

Probably cisco changing/making new mibs, ie. randomly breaking other things
(like ND) as usual. I never did get around to debugging it much, but node
detail would have been nice. Figure its time for a new upgraded nd2 appliance,
but perhaps deeper issues if yours is a newer version. Mine is a few years old
at least, but has served me well in a pinch over the years.

Hi,

Is it possible macsuck isn’t working for Cisco Catalyst 9200 switches?
I’ve got >40 of these switches, and I can’f find the connected devices/mac
addresses.
The only connected devices I see on these switches are the ones discovered with
CDP/LLDP, I think…

I’ve compare the output of “~bin/netdisco-do macsuck -D -d <IP address>” with
the output of other Catalysts, and it seems it can’t find the mac addresses

Anyone a clue?

Kind regards,
Karel

i'm also sql challenged so i'm asking here :)

How can i add Vendor column to IpInventory report?
