I see. The problem is that probably the majority of people use local
authentication, so always installing Net::LDAP may not make sense.
I'll think of a solution.

*sigh*. That's what happens when I take patches and don't test them. I
just fixed the syntax error and pushed the changes to github.

I'm not an LDAP expert, but as I understand, the code authenticates by
binding with the Netdot username and password.
If your site uses a different set of credentials for binding, then we'll
need to modify the code. Patches always welcome.

Please read the "Upgrading" section of the manual
https://osl.uoregon.edu/redmine/attachments/download/107/netdot-manual.htm
and the file doc/UPGRADE in the new package.
If you are running 0.9.6 or older, you will probably need to upgrade
to 0.9.10 first, and then 1.0.1.
