Hi Abed,

(I hope you don't mind that I CC this to the list, so other people can
benefit)

Let's say you want to view the path from device A to the root device.
You can:

- Search for A in Management->Devices->Search
- While viewing that device in the device.html page, go to the
"Topology" tab
- You should see at least one neighbor. If you don't, then Netdot has
not figured out neighbors for device A.
    - To correct this, make sure that:
    a) CDP and/or LLDP are turned on on every device that supports it
    b) You are collecting forwarding tables (FWT) from every switch
    c) You are running updatedevices.pl with the -T option periodically
    d) If the above doesn't work, you can set the neighbor manually from
the Interfaces tab of the device page.

- If device A has a neighbor, from the Topology tab, specify a high
value for "Depth Up", say 100. Then click "Change View".
- If the the topology information is complete in Netdot, you should see
the path all the way to the root (NMS_DEVICE). If not, try correcting as
explained above.

I hope this helps.
