Perhaps your best course of action would be to confer with your network
security people and/or firewall vendor and get an understanding of what
is/isn't being let through, and whether you can tune the configuration to
pass through the ip address or other info that is now being suppressed.

Although I don't know much in detail about firewalls, I don't think that
anybody could make a categorical statement about what would or would not be
affected by a firewall, without knowing the details of your specific
installation.
