Turns out the solution to this wasn't so
difficult after all. I needed to set the
'Session Tracking' property on all projects
to 'Field/URL' from 'Auto' in order for the
new session not to start when switching
between projects.
Thanks to Chip Morgan for the suggestion
here.
FYI: I posted to this forum even though I
was using ND5. This may or may not be an
issue with ND4.
