I have a ND 4.1.3 application using IIS as
the web server, and Oracle 7 as the DBMS.
When the user pastes text with smart-quotes
(curled quotes instead of straight quotes)
from a Word document the quotes are
converted to question marks when the user
submits the form and updates the database.
I do capture single-quotes and change them to
('') in order to embed them in the update
statements.
This works fine in my environment. The only
difference I am aware of is that the clients
Oracle server is on Unix and mine is on NT.
Has anyone seen anything like this or have
any thoughts. I am in the process of having
the client capture the sql being executed so
I can determine if the problem starts before
the sql gets to Oracle.
Thanks in advance,
Brent Claxton
