I'm sorry but this project is a community effort by volunteers. If you want to have any guarantees, try getting commercial support for iptables/netfilter. Then you will have a contract indicating that you have a right on 'every possible patch needs to work with every released kernel version' - or something like that. We are trying very hard to make this project work. And I think your reaction is unrespectful to every developer in that team. Everybody can complain about bad things, but I don't like the attitude of people expecting commercial-grade support from volunteers. Believe me or not, we have other criteria than 'removing the burden of patching from the users who want to use development code'. It's important that the code is of good quality. It's important that there are no bugs in it, and that all interfaces are designed in the way we want to have them. It needs to be tested on a variety of machines (SMP, big endian, ...). Once all those criteria are fulfilled, we consider submitting something to the stock kernel. patch-o-matic is an additional effort from our side. And it's not about providing the possibility of patching something - this could be achieved with regular patches as well. You just need to manually go in and look for the rejected hunks, etc. But we want to be friendly, and have more people testing our development code, thus providing them an easy-to-use frontend. And: The documentation clearly states that only patches in 'submitted', 'pending' and 'base' are supposed to apply without any clashes. Summary: Thanks for your bug report, it is acknowledged. But complaining and sighing is not going to help you or us in any way. > Thanks. -- Live long and prosper - Harald Welte / [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.gnumonks.org/ ============================================================================ GCS/E/IT d- s-: a-- C+++ UL++++$ P+++ L++++$ E--- W- N++ o?
