Use multi-zone into DNS (if you use BIND).
Make it answer the real IP to queries from internal machines (behind the
firewall)
and the exposed IP to machines out on the internet.

It has been working like this for me.

If you have another internal DNS, then set it up to answer real IP addresses
for the local computers.
Make sure the web and email servers query that server first.
