That's correct: the "value" dialogue just reports/sets the current value, which is saved with the model. There is no actual "default value": that would have to be added, which I would consider a feature. Currently, to load a model with pre-specified default values, one must use `startup` to set those values. I suppose most NetLogo users learn about this late if ever.
