My understanding is that support been added to YANG validators (e.g., YANG Catalog, pyang, yanglint) to support the "rev:non-backwards-compatible" extension statement. Is that correct? I ask because I believe it is important that support exists, but in regard to implementation status, the shepherds writeup says, "This is YANG Module.
