It would be definitely useful to have both. Right now, google data could be more useful in many areas of the world, so it would be good to have this option. Anyway, if we have enough time and resources, we should also start developing a tool for using Openstreetmap data. I think we should not wait for a "fairly detailed" status of OSM ( = OpenStreetMap ) for 2 reasons: - in many areas of the world I would say it is already detailed; - in many more areas OSM could take much long to become fairly detailed, especially without people being interested in it.
