For the life of me, I can't see why Net-Tamer 1.12.0 (386 version) would
have a problem with www.fullcompass.com. Walter says version 1.08 will
access the site. There isn't any Java or Javascript anywhere I can see
using DOSLynx. There simply isn't a good excuse for Net-Tamer 1.12.0
not to access the site, but it _won't_. The alternative is to find the
earlier version of Net-Tamer that Walter mentioned or to use DOSLynx in
one of its forms. I used DOSLynx (Lynx386) to access the site and I can
see why you might be interested in going there. They sure have a lot of
neat stuff <g>.
With regard to Java, that application is provided as a .DLL in Netscape
Navigator 4.08 (16-bit version) for Win 3.1. If a web page has a java
applet that is supposed to be loaded, it expects you to have Java
enabled on your browser so that it will download and run the applet.
There isn't any DOS version of Java.
Many web pages also contain Javascript, which I believe was originally
developed by Netscape. It's not the same thing as Java, but there isn't
any DOS browser than can interpret Javascript, either, so if a link is
based on Javascript, then Net-Tamer, Lynx, and Arachne will fail on that
link.

I went to that site using DOSLynx and it has plenty of javascript links
that can't be handled by DOSLynx, and wouldn't be handled by Net-Tamer
even it it could load the first page. It's in Dutch, of course, but I
could see mention of javascript at one point in a page there at the
beginning. You'll need a browser with javascript capability, which
leaves out all DOS browsers.
