Bobcat is freeware.

Jerry said that the $50.00 price tag is for Minuet.
Minuet is not at all necessary for running Bobcat,
but it is a very nice accessory if it will work with
your ISP. Minuet will not work with many ISPs,
especially those whose POP3 server and SMTP server
have different names.

The documentation for Minuet mentions the $50.00 price
tag. I tried to register Minuet about 3 years ago and
I sent my check for $50.00. They wrote to me saying
they were not accepting registrations any more because
they are no longer supporting the program. They did not
cash my check. You can download Minuet for free. It
is said to be shareware. If you try to pay for it and
register it, and they won't even take your money, then my
interpretation would have it that Minuet is now freeware.
