That was the same problem I had with non-modified versions
of Nettamer and NetMail Pro. Uncle Dave said the problem
has something to do with the number of characters or digits
or decimals in the domain name upon connecting. If upon
connecting you see any smiley-face characters in your domain
name you probably have the same problem as I did.
BTW, when I connect to my ISP using a modified version of
Nettamer or NetMail Pro I see a screen that looks like this:
-------- begin screen shot -----------
+++AT&F&C1&D2 15:04:39
OK
ATDT984-9676
CONNECT 31200/ARQ
Welcome to 3Com Total Control HiPer ARC (TM)
Networks That Go The Distance (TM)
login: IP Address-204.111.57.111
Domain Name-ha26s367.d.shentel.net
------- end screen shot ---------
With the unmodified versions I see a smiley-face character in
the domain name. Uncle Dave said that my domain name as returned
by the server has too many characters or decimals or whatever.
He said that some ISPs have this problem. For that reason the
"off-the-shelf" version of Nettamer would not work. He sent me a
modified version of NETTAMER.EXE and that solved the problem.
All the best,
Sam Heywood
