Offline reader ReRead has a hook-in for this, and I recommend Guthrie's excellent HTMSTRIP which does a really good job with not only stripping those tags but formatting the result to a well legible text file. Used as a hook-in with ReRead you can directly have it displayed then, without leaving the mail (file) sequence.
