You're right, the attachment does contain binary data. Result: I
received a corrupt file :-( 

He doesn't know what base_64 encoding is and I don't know how to
tell him to change his settings. It should be possible because
the same person has sent me base_64 encoded .doc files. Strange...

It's sad that many of these Windows users click their way
through life and don't have the slightest idea what is really
happening under the skin of their operating system.
