Yowsa, I have missed what launched this particular barb, but there would
appear to be "banal simplicity and contempt" on both sides here, ja?

Kettle, meet pot.

I've drifted far off to the left -- & not right -- with Derrida as a 'guide'
(we all need our guides) and have not found myself shaking the Stasi stick.

There's quite intriguing work being done in philosophy of technology with
Derrida these days, which is perhaps more of interest to Nettime in any case
-- I'm sitting here looking at a pile of heavy-thought books demanding some
serious attention:

David Wills - Dorsality: Thinking Back Through Technology & Politics

Miguel de Beistegui - Truth & Genesis: Philosophy as Differential Ontology

As well as the work of Peter Solterdijk [ http://www.petersloterdijk.net/ ]
& Graham Harman.

Just saying there's more to Derrida than Spivak, and more to Spivak than
post-colonial 'contempt' -- unless you want to paint them all with the same
(ideological) brush, command us all how to think about 'them', and then burn
their books? Now that wouldn't be 'centric', would it?
